Ok, so the stoner part isn't exactly accurate and back in my day, it was Bat Cave, not Goth and I don't think there were too many Ghetto gangstas at bellevue high...other than that...perfectly accurate ;) -

Which is mostly true at Garfield I hung out with a group of overly intellectual slightly angry young thrash metalheads and then I transferred to lakeside and I hung out with books and my guitar and amplifiers. I actually carried them to and from school everyday it was kind of nutty.
I knew I should have gone goth I would met those cute, if a bit pale!, goth chicks! To give myself slack there were not too many goths at lakeside, it was all pretty damn preppy. Garfield was far more diverse.

A few years back, I was at work and this old dude came in. He was talking to me as I was messing with refilling the steamer. I spilled the water all over the place and was really frustrated and not at all interested in what he was talking about. He stopped me from what I was doing and said "well, I'm here 'cause I can read faces." I just stood up, looked at him, and said "well can you read in my face that I am really angry and busy???" He left.
Doesn't have anything to do with it really, but I was just reminded of it! heehee

Wed, January 26, 2005 - 8:43 PMNot sure if it's the exact same research, but I saw a paper presentation on this very subject at the SIGGRAPH computer graphics convention some years ago.
One thing the MindHacks article doesn't mention is the striking, compelling nature of the composite images. Distilling a personality trait is pretty damn amazing. So it appears that beauty isn't totally in the eye of the beholder... or rather, we all share similar subjective experiences in this area.
It's pretty interesting that the bunk-science field of physiognomy, long discredited, is making a comeback with the help of the scientific method.

We didn't have goths or ghetto gangstas at Carmel High. We had jocks, nerds, stoners, cowboys, and new wavers (known as skivs). The new wavers were definitely *not* punks-- they were fashion whores. The girls all wore Guess peg-leg jeans with zippers at the ankles.
As for me, I was a lonely geek / stoner. Yeah, I played the lead in the school plays, but I was *not* a drama nerd. As I look back, I wish I had hung out with the hippie Deadhead freaks, they had a lot more fun than my nerdy friends.
