Oh! also, I am planning to work on designs for my acrylic chandelier that I am going to be making for myself! I need to decide on the colors. It's going to be COOL!

Still off work (unpaid) while I recover from surgery. Trying to catch up on things around the house so that I can finally get housemates. It's a lot of damned work...just when I'm weakest. I'm enjoying the break from work, though.

- Got a job offer and gave notice last Friday. Ironically, I'm going back to work with the company that moved me out from Iowa. Out of insurance programming and back into medical programming. The commute will be longer, though but my boss will be a friend who I worked with before. The ho hum reaction to my two weeks notice is offset by the fact that she and another friend were both recruiting me for their companies.

- Joined a really cool Unitarian church

- On the down side, found out about a week ago that a friend back in Buffalo died of cancer last Fall. Feeling like a bit of a shit for not being in touch with her better.

- Went camping on Saturday. (Pix are up in my album)
- Turned over 500 miles on my bike odometer (for 2007)
- Lost 19 pounds.

I'm really excited about the project I'm working on with the UC Botanical Garden. I first wrote them in August and got no reply. I wrote again in November and apparently got it before the right set of eyes. Initially, I was just looking for donation of the use of their small conference center because I wanted to put together an event for loads of garden clubs, community gardens and plant societies to present to the public as well as network with each other. I was naively energetic enough to put the event on entirely by myself. UCBG's event coordinator liked my idea, though, so this is going to be an official UCBG event and I'm helping her plan it.

I met with her today (and lemme tell ya a botanical garden is an awesome workplace). I already did a lot of net research to suggest who we invite. Now I'm following up on all those and getting contact emails to her so we can send out the invitation for participation. I hope people respond. I think this event could be so great if we get it off the ground.

Going to be bored next 2 weeks while 'Nista is gone on a business trip.

Looking at tribe, while my sweetie, Irisphnx, is playing on the Wii.
Drinking some wine.
Kids are in bed.
Life is good.

-Talked to friend Tiia for the first time in years, her birthday was yesterday.

-I am housesitting a pitbull and a hot water tank in Mountlake Terrace til Monday.

-The xrays shopw that my left 4th finger is dislocated AND broken from playing rugby against a bunch of Microsofties.
